HISTORY

The Armed Forces Tribunal established under the Armed Forces Tribunal Act, 2007 for deciding appeals arising out of orders, findings or sentences of Court Martial and for the adjudication or trial of disputes and complaints with respect to commission, appointments, enrolment and conditions of service in respect of persons subject to the Army Act, 1950, the Navy Act, 1957 and the Air Force Act, 1950 and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto was establsihed w.e.f. 10.8.2009.

The Kochi Bench was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice A.K. Mathur, the Chairperson on 6.12.2009 in the presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice S.R. Bannurmath, Chief Justice, High Court of Kerala, Hon'ble Mr. Justice K. Padmanabhan Nair and Lt. Gen. Thomas Mathew PVSM, AVSM, the Hon'ble Members and it came into force w.e.f. 7.12.2009.

It is having jurisdiction over the States of Kerala and Karnataka and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

Working Hours of Tribunal : 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM except Saturday, Sunday & Other Public holidays.....Sitting hours : From 10 AM to 1 PM & 2 PM to 4.30 PM on all working days
